Homemade Tomato Puree Recipe
It’s a versatile sauce used in Indian restaurants and home kitchens. You can prepare endless dishes with this tomato puree. Some home makers always keep this sauce handy with them in refrigerator, to make quick dishes when there are unexpected guests at home.
How to make Tomato Puree at Home ?
INGREDIENTS:
- Tomatoes – 500gms
- Degi Chili Powder – 1 tea spoon
- Water – half cup
PREPARATION METHOD :
- Wash and cut tomatoes into quarters/cut each tomato into 4 pieces.
- Add tomatoes into a pan along with degi chili and water.
- Keep the pan on high flame and reduce the flame to low when it boils.
- Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 30 minutes.
- When cooked, turn off the flame and let it cool.
- Now blend it to make a fine puree.
- Strain it through a soup strainer. (Straining will remove all the seeds and skin, resulting in fine tomato puree.)
- Store in refrigerator and it can be used for next 2 days to make any tomato based dish.
