Ghee Shakkar Bread Toast
Other Name – Clarified Butter & Jaggery Powder Toast
Mixture of melted ghee & shakkar is one of the greatest combinations in the food world. Our mother used to give us ghee shakkar on the top of chapati or parantha and sometimes by mixing it with leftover cooked rice. But I tried this same method on multigrain bread toasts and believe me this dish will rock you and bring the swirl of flavours in your mouth.
Ingredients For Ghee Shakkar Bread Toast :
- Shakkar (Jaggery Powder) – 100 gms/10 table spoons
- Melted Ghee (Clarified Butter) – 50 gms/5 table spoons
- Chopped Nuts (for topping on toasts): Pistachios, Almonds or any nut of your choice
Method of Preparation :
- Take jaggery powder in a bowl.
- Heat ghee in a pan and immediately pour over jaggery powder.
- Mix it well with a spoon.
- Make perfect crisp toast of bread slice in oven or over the griddle on very low heat.
- Spread the mixture on toast with the spoon.
- Enjoy the toast with chopped nuts on top or consume as it is.
Important Note :
- You may have it on any type of bread toast like White, Brown, Whole Wheat, Multi Grain etc.
- Always buy jaggery powder which is dark and dull brown in colour. Which is bright and reddish in colour, is not of good quality and having colours in it.
